James W. Wakem II, - President/CEO
James (Jamie) Wakem has been a resident of South Florida and has been involved in the water treatment industry all of his life. He grew up working for Wallace Wakem (founder of Atlantic Filter) and in 1969, following a career in the United States Air Force, joined the company. Upon Wallace’s retirement in 1980, Jamie became president and CEO. Jamie has served for many years as a director of both the Florida Water Quality Association (FWQA) and the international arm of the association, the Water Quality Association (WQA). He also served as president of both organizations and is an active member of many of the WQA’s standing committees. Over the years, Jamie has trained hundreds of water treatment professionals throughout the southeast in water treatment, filtration and reverse osmosis design and application.
In 2007, Jamie was the recipient of the WQA's Hall of Fame Award, the highest award bestowed by the organization, for his commitment and dedication to the water treatment industry. In addition, Jamie is the recipient of the WQA’s Quality Circle Award and Award of Merit as well as the FWQA’s Hall of Fame and Distinguished Service Awards. He presently holds the WQA professional certification levels: CWS-VI, CSR and CI.
Amanda Wakem Moore - Vice President
Amanda Moore has been around the water treatment business for all of her life and grew up in a water conditioning family. She frequently attended industry functions with her family and set her eye on being a water treatment professional at an early age. Amanda attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Economics and Business Administration. Upon graduation, she joined the family business, serving in the accounting department, and over the years has become extremely well versed with all aspects of Atlantic Filter’s daily operations. Presently, Amanda oversees Atlantic Filter’s customer service department and brings an increased level of professionalism and total customer commitment to this extremely important element of our business.
Throughout the year, Amanda attends industry trade shows and WQA and FWQA meetings. Amanda presently holds the WQA professional certification level:CWS-1
Dave Kerslake - Service Manager
David (Dave) Kerslake loves everything about water! A resident of Palm Beach County all of his life, an outstanding swimmer during high school and basically just all around at home on the water, Dave left the area only once to attend the University of Arizona. He returned as quickly as he could and joined the Atlantic Filter team in 2005 as part of our sales department, working as an in-field residential sales specialist for both municipally treated water and well water supplies. Over the years, Dave’s expertise has grown and he presently holds the WQA’s certification level of Certified Water Specialist I (CWS-I). Today, Dave handles estate home sales as well as light commercial applications, and participates in both FWQA and WQA industry events. He has taken extensive sales and service training programs for Pedrollo Pumps and BioGuard pool products, and offers this expertise to Atlantic Filter customers on a daily basis.
Chris Phillips - Wholesale
Chris joined the Atlantic Filter team in 2011. Over the years, Chris's expertise has grown exponentially, he presently holds the WQA’s certification level of Certified Water Specialist I (CWS-I). Chris handles wholesale accounts and manages the warehouse. He participates in both FWQA and WQA industry events. He has taken extensive service training programs for Clack and Pentair valves and offers this expertise to Atlantic Filter customers on a daily basis.
Bill Hartman - Retail Manager/Sales
William (Bill) Hartman has been involved in the water treatment industry since starting out in Broward County with the Suntory Water Group. During that time, he was an active volunteer with the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks & Recreation Department and the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Bill joined the Atlantic Filter team in 1998 as part of the sales department, working as an in-field residential sales specialist for both municipally treated water as well as well water supplies. Over many years, Bill’s expertise has grown and he presently holds one of the WQA’s highest certifications available, a level of Certified Water Specialist VI (CWS-VI).
Bill is an active member of the South Florida Gold Coast Remodelers Council and served as Education Coordinator in 2008 and 2009. He is active in both the Gold Coast Builders Association and Treasure Coast Builders Association. Bill presently holds the WQA professional certification levels: CWS-VI, CSR.
Jason Long - Residential Sales
Jason Long is a South Florida Native. He joined the Atlantic Filter team in 2011 as part of the sales department, working as an in-field residential sales specialist for both municipally treated water as well as well water supplies.
Jeff Brooks - Retail / Web / Multimedia & Design
Jeff is a South Florida Native. He joined the Atlantic Filter team in 2011 as part of the retail department. Jeff is a product specialist for the latest and greatest Atlantic systems. He has creative skills in Web Development / Multimedia & Design has become a valued member of our team. You can find Jeff any given day at our corporate headquarters located in West Palm Beach FL.
